Here is What People are Missing About Money

Here is What People are Missing About Money

Over the last few weeks, we have talked a lot about the concept of paying yourself first.

I personally believe that if you can develop this habit you will gain financial success.

The reason I believe this is because to pay yourself first, you will have to master many aspects of yourself.

This leads to one of the most misunderstood aspects of money.

Here is What People are Missing

I have heard many individuals talk about how they are just not good at money.

They struggle with budgeting.

They have a hard time not eating out.

They like to buy things

The list goes on.

And the truth is, we all struggle with these same desires – at least at some point.

But what many are missing, is that they don’t have a money problem.

What they really have is a self-control problem or lifestyle problem.

And these areas of neglect are manifesting itself in their money.

Let’s look at one specific area: eating out.

Many a budget has been killed by this very thing.

So, what do we do?

We promise ourselves week after week that we are going to eat out less.

Then the busy schedules, desire to socialize, and a list of others things make it hard to stay true to the plan.

And we end up eating out more than we had planned.

This is precisely where we go wrong.

Instead, what we should be doing is focusing on our health.

Start exercising regularly.

Cutting unhealthy eating out of our meals.

As we start to focus here, we start to feel better physically.

This progress is a great motivator.

We are changing who we are.

As we make these changes, we lose the desire to indulge.

As a benefit, we now have the desire to eat out less – and our finances benefit from this change.

Conclusion

Focus on the change inside yourself and see your finances improve.

You will be surprised how much self-improvement is tied to financial progress.

This is just one example.

My challenge for you is to examine your finances and find the areas you are struggling with.

Next, find what area of your life you can improve that will by default help that area of your money.

You’ll find that personal development and finances are one and the same.
